GLO Park Update: Community Meeting September 9th at 7 p.m.
Join us at Camp George West to hear the state's latest
A lot of you have been asking me “What’s next?!” for Camp George West and the GLO Park project.
Despite the overwhelming community opposition, the state has decided to issue a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to developers for housing where the GLO Park research labs were supposed to go.
You can read the RFQ here under the “Attachments” tab: https://prd.co.cgiadvantage.com/PRDVSS1X1/Advantage4. If you click on the pdf title it will start downloading to your computer, just give it a second. If you can’t get the link to work, email me at lauraforpleasantview@gmail.com and I will email you a copy of the pdf.
So what can we do? Please show up to the September 9th community meeting at 7 p.m. at Camp George West to make your voice heard!
The state is moving forward, but also wanted to talk to the metro district board. Since any meeting of the board is public, the Pleasant View board called a special meeting to make sure the public would be part of this process. This meeting is in on September 9th at 7 p.m. in Building 48, the stone building at the Camp George West parking lot. There will be a public comment section after the state’s presentation. Please be ready to again provide public comment on the night of September 9th to make your voice heard!
I unfortunately don’t have any additional information from the state because they declined to provide it when I asked for updated plans, materials, or graphics. The most information we have is the RFQ from the state’s website. Here’s that link one more time: https://prd.co.cgiadvantage.com/PRDVSS1X1/Advantage4
My fellow board members will be out door knocking and distributing flyers this week to make sure everyone knows about this important community meeting. If you’d like to volunteer to help us, please reach out! We’d love help to reach as many neighbors as possible. Email me at lauraforpleasantview@gmail.com with your availability for evenings and weekends until September 9.
We’ve already shown the county that Pleasant View is small but mighty. Please keep up the pressure and make sure our community’s voice is heard.
If you need additional information about this project, please read my earlier posts:
